Only 57% of people in rural areas have access to basic drinking water services. Children wake before sunrise to walk miles for a single bucket. Often, it’s unsafe. Often, it makes them sick. Mothers do what they can to protect their families, but clean water is not a guarantee — it’s a daily gamble.

But the crisis doesn’t end there.
